Green Hydrogen

Forward-looking legal counsel for green hydrogen and emerging clean energy projects. We help developers, investors, technology providers, and industrial stakeholders navigate this rapidly evolving sector.

Building the Legal Framework for Emerging Energy.

Green hydrogen is a newer part of our energy practice, and the sector is still early stage. Risk allocation on these transactions is not settled by precedent yet, so we work through it case by case. Most of what we handle here is tied to export. We advise on the risks that come with that and document how to manage them: meeting green hydrogen standards in the exporting jurisdiction, keeping the green power supply uninterrupted, and staying compliant with SEZ and EOU norms.

What We Handle

Risk mitigation advisory for green hydrogen manufacture, particularly for export

Compliance with green hydrogen standards in the exporting jurisdiction

Continuity of green power supply arrangements

Compliance with SEZ and EOU norms

Green Hydrogen Supply Agreements and related project documentation

Representative Experience

Risk advisory for an integrated captive renewable energy and green hydrogen project. Advised a renewable energy developer (solar and wind) on risk identification for an integrated captive wind and solar farm feeding a green hydrogen project. Prepared and helped finalise the long term green hydrogen supply agreement, addressing bankability issues.

Structuring solar and wind integration with a green hydrogen project. Currently advising on structuring the development of a solar and wind power farm to integrate with an upcoming green hydrogen project, covering transfer of grid connectivity, risk allocation among various stakeholders, and creation of security for project finance.
