OneSubsea Successfully Commissions Subsea Boosting Systems in Gulf of Mexico

OneSubsea, a Schlumberger company, successfully commissioned subsea boosting systems in ultra-deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Installed at a depth of 7,000 feet, the system consists of three retrievable single-phase pumps of 3.0 MW each and supports cost-effective reservoir recovery.
Lula Alto Oilfield Commences Production

The Lula Alto pre-salt oilfield, part of Sinopec Corporation Brazil’s PB project, commenced production. Located within the BM-S-11 block of the Santos Basin, the field produces approximately 30,000 barrels of crude oil and one million cubic meters of natural gas daily.

Off-Specification Gas Under Gas Sales Agreement (GSA)
Off-specification gas refers to gas delivered by a seller that does not meet the agreed quality specifications under a Gas Sales Agreement or applicable law.
Common causes include excessive levels of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, sulphur, oxygen, water, and other impurities that reduce the commercial value and usability of natural gas.
A Gas Sales Agreement typically specifies:
- Methane content requirements
- Calorific value limits
- Maximum impurity levels
- Delivery temperature requirements
- Wobbe Index standards
- Relative density specifications
The article discusses the rights and obligations of both buyers and sellers when off-specification gas is delivered, including notification requirements, indemnities, liability caps, and remedial measures.
The seller has a continuing duty to act as a reasonable and prudent operator and take all necessary steps to remedy off-specification gas issues.
